**About the Company**:
A dynamic and diverse business, our client is a global organisation with several well-known household brands. They distribute their comprehensive products to a global customer base of major manufacturers, supermarket retailers, wholesalers, and foodservice companies.

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a diverse Packaging Manager to specialise in innovative, scientific, and sustainable product ingenuities both for new and existing product development.

At a high level, the role encompasses:

- **New packaging development**:design, development, and implementation of innovative packaging concepts.
- **Creating/managing specifications**:new designs and maintaining existing designs.
- **Develop suppliers**:Materials and creative designs with suppliers to ensure innovative material and superior packaging design.
- **Knowledge of packaging materials, formats, uses and suppliers**:Deep understanding of packaging materials/formats and their possible utilisation for a variety of products whilst developing an understanding of suppliers and their capabilities
- **Value engineering**:Ongoing cost and efficiency improvement programs
- **Packaging strategy**: Developing plans for packaging formats and capabilities, improving manufacturing efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
- **Project management and organisation**:Advancing the development of packaging through the business.

Packaging that is developed to a high-quality standard that is then commercialised in a timely and cost-effective way, is the key output from this role. Therefore, to be successful, you will possess the following:

- A degree in Packaging Science, Packaging Technology, Engineering or Food Technology or equivalent is essential.
- Essential - 5 to 10 years from either FMCG, food, pharmaceutical, or packaging manufacturing environments with experience in:

- packaging sciences
- packaging development (including primary wraps, and shippers)
- packaging legislation and laws
- food processing and production
- Expertise in food safety and food hygiene programs, packaging, printing, legislation, and raw materials.
- Ability to understand business strategies and translate them into development requirements.
- A flexible and innovative approach to the management of the packaging function
- Action-oriented approach with keen attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
