As we expand, we are looking for a highly capable Lead** Backend Consultant** to join a newly formed team within a large enterprise environment, focusing on mission-critical work in the **pricing and promotions** space. This role is ideal for someone with profound experience in **API development**, **Azure cloud services**, and **event-driven architecture**, who also enjoys shaping team practices and fostering a collaborative culture.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend solutions using **.NET Core** and **Azure Functions**
- ** Experience in large, legacy-heavy orgs.**
- ** Someone who has migrated or modernized systems incrementally.**
- ** Excellent communication—someone who explains trade-offs well.**
- ** Has worked cross-functionally with the product/design/dev/test team.**
- Architect and integrate **event-driven systems** using **Azure Event Grid**, **Service Bus**, and **API Management**
- Oversee CI/CD processes using **Azure DevOps** and **GitHub Actions**
- Guide microservices development, ensuring clean architecture and service boundaries
- Collaborate across teams, including frontend, product, and DevOps, to ensure seamless delivery
- Mentor junior consultants and contribute to a positive, high-performing team environment

**Core Technical Requirements**
- Strong hands-on experience with **.NET Core (6 or 8)**, **C#**, and **Microservices** using **Azure Functions**, **Service Bus**, **APIM**, and **App Services**
- Practical experience with **Azure DevOps Pipelines**, **ARM/Bicep**, and **Infrastructure-as-Code**
- Solid understanding of **Domain-Driven Design (DDD)**, **Event-driven architecture**, **CQRS**, and **RESTful API versioning**
- Strong debugging skills, especially across distributed systems
- Strong expertise in **.NET Core** and **Azure Functions**
- Proven experience with **Azure Event Grid**, **Service Bus**, and **API Management**
- Solid knowledge of **CI/CD** using **Azure DevOps** and **GitHub Actions**
- Strong Git practices and code review culture

**Preferred Experience**
- Background in working with large-scale enterprise systems
- Full stack knowledge (bonus but not essential)
- Experience in environments with a strong customer or pricing focus
- Track record of contributing to team culture and mentoring others
