**WHO WE ARE**:
Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is seeking a motivated and experienced leader to oversee regional learning and development activities. As the Operations Manager for Regional L&D, you will:

- Provide leadership and management to a team of staff and volunteer trainers, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of training across multiple locations.
- Drive a high-performance culture by fostering continuous improvement, operational excellence, and a strong customer service focus.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to align training programs with operational readiness and strategic goals.
- Manage resources, develop regional training calendars, and support emergency response readiness by maintaining accreditation.

This role requires regional travel along with some out-of-hours work and overnight stays. As an emergency service organisation, this role is designated to participate in an operational duty roster and undertaking Incident Management Team training to support operational readiness and response during major emergencies. This role is ideal for someone with strong people management skills, experience in operational training, and a passion for fostering talent in a volunteer-based organisation.
**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage time, resources, and competing priorities effectively.
- A focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Experience working in volunteer-based environments (desirable).
