The Woolworths Melbourne South Regional Distribution Centre (MSRDC) is a state-of-the-art distribution facility utilising the latest cutting-edge technology in automation so that we can ensure efficient, quality service to our customers and stores in Victoria.
Located in Dandenong South, MSRDC operates 24-hours per day, seven days a week and provides the bulk of ambient grocery needs to our Woolworths stores in Victoria and beyond.
The purpose of this role is to work together with the broader MSRDC team to put the right products in customers' hands as simply and safely as possible. As an Area Specialist you would be responsible for leading a dedicated team to drive the values of the business and that the operational objectives are achieved effectively. This role will also work closely with the broader MSRDC team to meet our Diversity and Inclusion, People, Safety, Service and Value objectives.
**A summary of responsibilities will include, however not be limited to
- Execute workload planning for assigned area into actual results
- Lead by example building and promoting a team environment focused on working collaboratively and championing the Primary Connect values
- Work with your peers to drive continuous improvement and a dynamic work culture
- Performance manage and develop team members
- Use effective communication techniques which encourage open and honest communications with internal and external team partnerships
- Effectively communicate key site objectives for the day to your team and coach to deliver consistent performance levels
- Understand and adhere to all relevant Company Policies and Procedures and to promote same amongst team
- Ensure that the team comply with safety policies, procedures and role responsibilities as defined in the Supply Chain Safety Management Procedure SHE-SC-S01-P02 SH&E Responsibilities
- Have an in-depth understanding of your area of responsibility to ensure that you are able to work with key stakeholders to optimise efficiency, delivery of KPI’s and support continuous improvement
- Diagnose, assess and propose solutions to operational issues within area of responsibility
- Demonstrate high level of ownership of area and ensure appropriate accountability exists
