**Responsibilities**:
The purpose of the Numeracy Content Specialist role 7-10A is to assist Essential Assessment in the development and the delivery of secondary school numeracy content for our platform. This role involves hybrid office hours as well as work from home. The position will be responsible for development, writing, reviewing and creating explanations of numeracy content for our assessment and curriculum materials.

Essential Assessment is a leading provider of a unique Australian Curriculum, Victorian Curriculum and NSW Syllabus numeracy and literacy assessment and curriculum model that delivers a whole school approach to summative and formative assessment for Australian schools. Essential Assessment aspires to work nationally with primary and secondary schools, teachers and parents by being a well-known resource that helps improve numeracy and literacy outcomes for Australian students and have a presence in international markets.

**Functional Responsibilities**

1. Create and modify secondary numeracy content for the online assessment program and the online curriculum program.

2. Deliver scripts for online video explanations and descriptions for numeracy concepts relating to curriculum outcomes.

3. Conduct regular reviews of existing Essential Assessment content and contribute to continuing improvement of our editorial process in terms of best practice for content development.

4. Conduct regular reviews of existing Essential Assessment numeracy content relating to online and paper-based resources.

5. Ensure mathematical concepts, including advanced concepts, are accurately presented on the platform.

6. Review and map numeracy curriculums against Essential Assessment content to ensure alignment and identify opportunities for expansion of resources.

7. Respond to feedback given by the teaching and learning team regarding numeracy content, adapting content where necessary.

8. Contribute to specialised projects, process improvement and other initiatives including customer engagement, technology solutions and enhanced reporting requirements.

9. Communicate effectively, share information and work cooperatively with team members to contribute to the achievement of individual, team and organisational goals and customer experience.

**Qualifications & Professional Association**

Tertiary qualifications in education are required.

**Work Experience**

At least 5 years of maths teaching in a secondary school environment.

Experience in writing numeracy content and / or curriculum writing would be advantageous.

Experience in teaching primary numeracy content would be advantageous.

Computer savvy and willing to learn new programs and processes.
