About the opportunity
The Family Violence Coordinator (FVC) provides organisational leadership, advocacy and oversight of the family violence strategy across the mental health program and in line with Mercy Hospitals Victoria Limited (MHVL) Strengthening Hospitals Response to Family Violence (SHRFV) and Child safe requirements.
- This position is responsible for collaborating with similar roles within MHVL, and external drug and alcohol and family violence services. This position is responsible for the development of shared casework models and resourcing along with representation on Risk Assessment and Management Panels and other multi agency risk management models at a local level.
- The FVC uses their knowledge and expertise of the family violence sector to assist staff at MMH program, to navigate the specialist family violence service systems, provide information on best practice and ensure that appropriate policy and governance frameworks are in place.
- The FVC is required to maintain an in-depth knowledge of the specialist family violence support services in the local area and the eligibility requirements for such services including Support and Safety Hubs as they are established. The FVC engages with key stakeholders within MHVL and the local community to develop good partnerships and elevate the practice of identifying and responding to family violence for victims/survivors and perpetrators of family violence

Qualifications:
- Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse with successful completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or a Post graduate Psychiatric/mental health nursing qualification or
- An approved degree in Psychology and registration with AHPRA as a Psychologist with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or
- An approved degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA as an Occupational Therapist or
- An approved degree in Social Work and eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers and
- A current Full Victorian Driver's License and ability to drive a work vehicle
Desirable:
- Formal qualification in project and change management and or Post Graduate Qualification in Family Violence or Family Therapy
- Experience working in family violence with a good knowledge of the clinical mental health sector

- A current Police Record Check and Working with Children Check.
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
