VCAT is part of Victoria's justice system and provides fair, efficient and affordable justice by resolving disputes and making decisions. We service a range of disputes, from residential tenancy, guardianship and civil matters to complex building and property and human rights matters.The work we do relates to day-to-day matters that directly affect the lives of people in the community as well as the economy.

**Who are we looking for?**

You either have leadership experience or are ready for the next step in your career. Ideally, you have had the opportunity to provide training and support to team members and are comfortable and capable in dealing with technology and systems. You have a strong focus on providing great service and demonstrate an empathetic and proactive approach, as well as having:

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an ability to have challenging conversations
- Flexible attitude and willing to work in a rapidly evolving environment
- Common sense and good judgement
- Strong planning and organisation skills, including the ability to manage long term, cyclical projects and adhere to milestones and service delivery targets
- Excellent interpersonal skills

**About the role**

The role works closely with two other team leaders and is required to proactively oversee and manage the performance outputs and service delivery of the team, according to changing workload and priorities. The ability to manage complex and sensitive cases and escalated client contact is also an important function of the role. This process will be used to establish an Order of Merit for upcoming Team Leader vacancies in the Human Rights Division
