About Graceville State School:
This role is embedded within a dynamic school community supported by the Queensland Department of Education, an organisation committed to equity, excellence, and inclusivity. The school fosters a collaborative, student-focused culture that prioritizes innovation and continuous improvement. You will work closely with a dedicated team of educators and staff, reporting to the Principal while influencing the operational and strategic goals of the school.
About the role:
As the Business Manager you will manage the delivery of a range of corporate services, support educational management activities and lead the development of systemic change by actively supporting the school management team and school community. You will oversee the delivery of administrative, financial and human resources support, including the supervision of lower level school support staff and influencing stakeholders on sensitive issues.
Responsibilities include:
Leadership and Supervision:
Oversee and manage school support staff, including recruitment, induction, training, workload monitoring, and performance management in collaboration with the Principal
Financial Management:
Administer and track the school's budget, manage payroll, purchasing, and financial reporting, and advise on financial resource management.
Facilities and Operations: Oversee facilities and grounds maintenance, minor works projects, and resource/equipment procurement and maintenance
Administrative Support:
Provide comprehensive administrative assistance, including preparing reports, correspondence, and school publications like newsletters.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Build relationships within the school community and broader networks to ensure effective delivery of services and provide solutions to recurring administrative issues.
Demonstrated ability to manage and supervise teams effectively.
Strong financial management skills, including budget preparation, payroll, and compliance with policies and procedures.
Proficiency in administrative systems and tools (e.g., OneSchool financial modules).
