The National Warehouse and Distribution Manager is responsible for domestic and international operations related to distribution. With 6 branches nationally, the role provides leadership and guidance to the business in this key area, implementing practical solutions and refining processes in our distribution network, and optimising warehousing.
The National Warehouse and Distribution Manager is responsible for the management of all logístical activities involving export operations including the management of inventory within international warehouses. This role has a key responsibility for all landed inventory and ensuring that inventory levels within each branch are maintained.
What you’ll do:
Warehouse Management
- Manage implementation of digital systems initiatives including WMS implementation, training, and ensure buy-in from all stakeholders.
- Mentor and train Branch Management, Warehouse, Service in distribution methods, procedures and policies to ensure standardisation and optimisation
- Undertake scheduled reviews of Domestic Warehouse operations to ensure warehouse processes are continuously improved using LEAN methodologies, maximizing productivity, reducing costs, improving efficiencies and profitability, and ensuring customer (internal and external) and operational needs are met.
- Manage and coordinate International 3PL providers to ensure customer requirements and organisational needs are met. Ensure business practices are compliant with Maytronics standards.
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation. Assess and rectify potential hazards or non-compliance and implement best practice procedures.
Logistics Management
- Manage the day-to-day logistics operations to ensure all aspects of logistics are delivering the desired level of service and costs.
- Drive and manage logistics contract review activities to deliver cost and service improvements to the business.
- Balance international, national and local partners and networks cost and service levels in establishing appropriate logistic partners for the business.
- Develop relevant SLA’s and KPIs with transport partners via annual reviews.
Inventory Management
- Manage and coordinate the cycle count program to ensure it is meeting Maytronics standards
- Manage and maintain inventory levels across domestic and international warehouses to ensure that customer and business needs are met
- Lead annual year-end stock takes.
Export Management
- Manage export processes and deliverables including customer service, communication, documentation, relationships, grants, logístical requirements to ensure deliverables are met.
- Review and refine all processes and procedures to improve efficiencies and customer service levels
**Requirements**:
What you’ll bring:
- Significant experience in warehouse optimisation with a focus on improving workflow efficiencies, developing continuous improvement initiatives resulting in increased productivity and profitability.
- Experience in managing and optimising logistics solutions
- Inventory Control Experience - 3+ years
- Demonstrated success in leading and developing warehouse teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
- Effective problem-solving skills with the capability of developing solutions to increase efficiency & improve service delivery to customers.
- Computer literate with proficient use of MS Office including Excel.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with Dangerous Goods handling and Transport codes
- Solid understanding and focus on WH&S best practices and implementation
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced evolving environment.
- Decisive, with the ability to make sound decisions, based on experience and good judgement.
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (COR) requirements and prior experience in implementing COR
