**Role**:
There is an attendance requirement of 15 days for this position. This will be during each term break not including Term 4 break where the 4 weeks of annual leave will apply.

The position is garden and building maintenance, working with children in the yard and on special projects. This role requires physical labour, which may include lifting and carrying, climbing ladders, bending and stooping,

You will need to provide a working with children check card.

A role at this range may include:

- Specific support tasks to achieve outcomes. Typically, this will involve accountability for a single function, (e.g. ensuring data is properly maintained) or the co-ordination of a work area under the direction of the principal or a manager.
- Technical tasks that require a sound knowledge of basic technical and/or scientific principles that are used to develop and adapt work methods and make judgements where there are clear guidelines and limited options. Routine technical support in libraries, science, and information technology would be typical examples.

An education support class position at this range commencing at the base will initially be limited to undertaking routine tasks that are carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established, and direction is readily available. Subject to any specific qualification and/or training requirement, an education support class employee employed in this range may be progressively required to undertake coordination, specialised student/teacher support tasks, or technical tasks as experience in the role is gained.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate the sourcing of equipment and materials.
- Engage and oversee tradesmen completing work/ gain quotes/ expend budgets relating to specific funded facilities actions
- To maintain and monitor the running of the school grounds and facilities and associated equipment, including ordering, cleaning and scheduled checks.
- To support in maintaining the school grounds, including gardening and mowing responsibilities.
- To provide general maintenance to the school buildings and classrooms.
- To liaise with professionals who may be required to perform scheduled or emergency maintenance to the school.
- Ensure grassed areas that are not maintained by outside provider are kept neat and tidy.
- Maintain gardens in a neat, orderly state and liase with the College management on planting regime and choice of plants. Responsible for watering.
- Be responsible for cleaning of outside areas such as verandahs and paths.
- Ensure that all mowing equipment, garden tools, rubbish bins etc are maintained and secured where appropriate.
- Be available for call outs e.g. occasional opening and/or closing of gymnasium after external use. In the case of a broken window, be available after hours to make the building secure until a glazier can attend.
- Liaise with Campus Principal on maintenance requirements.
