**Position Information**:
Terrigal High School is a leading comprehensive, co-educational secondary school on the Central Coast. The school has a student population of approx. 855, including a Support Unit with four multi-categorical classes. The school reflects the diversity of the local community with a full range of socio-economic and educational backgrounds. The school is located on Darkinjung land with 5% of the total student population identifying Aboriginal heritage. The school has a close partnership with the local Kuriwa AECG to enhance Aboriginal cultural programs for all students and staff to address the needs of Aboriginal students. Terrigal High School has placed student centred, evidence-based practice at the core of all teaching and learning programs. Terrigal High School has a strong partnership with Terrigal Public School and Erina Heights Public School, which together form the Terrigal Learning Alliance, to ensure continuity of learning from kindergarten to Year 12. Terrigal High School has forged respectful and collaborative relationships with wider school community and has a vibrant and committed P&C.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
Demonstrated ability to initiate, implement and oversee whole school administration roles including daily organisation of staff cover, variations to routine, employment of casuals and the development and implementation of rosters and schedules.
Demonstrated capacity to build and implement a whole school timetable that is responsive to school and student needs and reflects a strong understanding of curriculum and allocation requirements.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with the executive team and the school community to lead, manage and implement programs and initiatives that support and meet the school’s strategic directions.
Proven ability to lead whole school attendance processes and monitoring, including working with the Home School Liaison Officer and the school Wellbeing team.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
