The Community and City Services Division puts people, families and community at the forefront of our work. The Strategy, Planning and Impact Team is responsible for the strategic operations of the Community Wellbeing Branch. The Team develops and maintains exceptional strategic awareness of the branch’s objectives, opportunities and risks, and provides advice, communications, measurement and administrative support for all initiatives to promote the best possible community wellbeing outcomes for the branch, the organisation and the city.

The Strategy, Planning and Impact Manager will lead, and develop a team and deliver on the following;
- Supporting the Community Wellbeing Leadership Team in the ongoing establishment of the Community Wellbeing branch and continuing to improve the organisational vision that underpins the objectives of the branch.
- Managing strategic issues, with consideration given to the branch’s priorities and CoM’s operational and planning timelines. In collaboration with the Community Wellbeing Leadership Team, plan and review the development and implementation of the branch strategy and operational plan.
- Overseeing the development, implementation and reporting of Council’s Municipal Public Health & Wellbeing Plan, responding to requirements of the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008.
- Strengthening the branch’s ability to generate and access data and insights that can better inform the implementation and iterative improvement of City of Melbourne’s community services

- Previous experience to skillfully manage intricate projects within dynamic and challenging settings. Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of how strategy, operations, support functions, management, and governance interact to achieve successful project outcomes.

- Highlight your capability to seamlessly translate strategic objectives into tangible operational achievements. Effectively lead change initiatives to ensure the organization's strategic goals are met.

- Showcase exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, presentations, and negotiation. Demonstrate your ability to influence and engage a diverse range of stakeholders through your communication talents.
- Stakeholder Relationship Building:

- Display your extensive experience in cultivating and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders at all organizational levels. Underpin your relationships with a keen understanding of the unique needs and expectations of various stakeholders.
Adaptability and Multitasking: Demonstrate your agility and capacity to excel in a dynamic work environment by efficiently managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Qualifications and Previous Experience:

- Possess a relevant tertiary qualification or demonstrate a successful track record in fields such as public sector, community services, health services, service planning, or a related discipline (desirable).
