**About the Portfolio**

Our Arts and Society academic units deliver world-class teaching, research, and creative productions across three regions in lutruwita/Tasmania: South (Hobart), North (Launceston), and Cradle Coast (Burnie). These units are deeply embedded in the Tasmanian community and contribute significantly to the intellectual, cultural, and social fabric of the state.

**The Opportunity**

This position is a unique opportunity for an exceptional leader to lead and support the evolution of Arts and Society with a focus on world class teaching, research, creative productions, and graduate outcomes. Leading this diverse yet mission-aligned collection of Academic Units, and working in partnership with community, industry, and government, this is pivotal role to help us realise our bold aspirations for the way in which the culture, education, health, productivity and climate agenda of Tasmania can enhance the life of Tasmanians and of the world.

The role is an opportunity to work collaboratively and purposefully, facilitate connection across academic units and contribute to whole of University strategic and executive decision making.

**What’s Required**
- Demonstrated extensive leadership and coaching experience at a Pro-Vice Chancellor level, with a proven ability to inspire, mentor, and guide diverse teams towards achieving strategic goals, in an academic setting.
- Demonstrated leadership and management experience within the Arts and Society educational fields
- Demonstrated high level organisational, leadership and managerial skills and a record of success in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans, setting budgets and managing finances, and managing, developing and workforce planning staff in an academic environment.
- A strong and sophisticated understanding of the strategic direction and unique challenges of and opportunities for the University of Tasmania, and the alignment for success across the full spectrum of Arts and Society disciplines.
