**Position overview**

The ANU Library Communications team provides support for all ANU Library branches as well as all Scholarly Information Services areas including ANU Archives, ANU Press, University Records, ANU Open Research and the Australian National Data Service. The ANU Library Communications team also works with other various ANU areas across the campus.

The Communications Specialist is an integral member of the ANU Library communications team. The role is highly creative and innovative and is responsible for delivering key communications messages through various media channels, providing advice and assistance with various projects and initiatives, working with a variety of stakeholders, both internal and external to the division, and providing strategic advice and contributing to strategic planning. This position will coordinate communications activities, creating and publishing timely news, web and social media content, overseeing and assisting with events and exhibitions, developing communications campaigns and strategies, developing communications project briefs and working within the Library Communications team to coordinate project implementations.

The Communications Specialist reports to the ANU Library Communications Manager and works under broad direction. The position works closely with all ANU Library Communications team members and with other ANU Library teams, Library branch managers, divisional senior managers and members of the Library executive. The Communications Specialist is expected to generate and maintain professional and supportive working relationships with colleagues both within Scholarly Information Services and across the university.
