**The Opportunity**
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) has several vacancies within the Overseas Property Office and Services (OPO) Division, where we create a little corner of Australia in every part of the word.
At OPO we plan it, build it, and maintain it. We put our people first, to create world-firsts, and we are passionate about delivering property projects and services for the Australian Government.
OPO are seeking project officers to undertake project management and support activities to help deliver departmental priorities in medium and major capital works projects.
These roles will coordinate and assist with project implementation and support senior staff in delivering the strategic vision while managing competing priorities, including acting as point of contact and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
As an experienced professional, you are a problem solver with meticulous attention to detail and take a proactive approach to your work. You work well in a team, are committed to building strong interpersonal stakeholder relationships to identify and deliver property solutions across a global portfolio.
In a project officer role, your demonstrated skills in coordinating, planning and supporting a range of time sensitive projects, will see you succeed.
Providing outstanding service, you are results driven and passionate about supporting the initiatives and strategic thinking of the department.
This role will challenge you to learn and understand how the department plans, implements and monitors projects differing in size and complexity, developing your skills and career progression in engineering, architecture, project, operational or managerial roles.
At the **APS 4 level** you will be expected to:
- undertake tasks of moderate complexity and work under general direction
- provide administrative support and advice that is informed and directed by sound knowledge
- understand relevant legislation and policy frameworks
At the
**APS 5 level** you will be expected to:
- undertake tasks of a complex nature and operate under limited direction
- provide advice within area of specialisation based on policies and legislation
- work may include supervision of lower-level employees
**Qualifications & Experience**
Mandatory:
Qualifications or relevant experience in Project Management, Construction, Architecture and/or Engineering and Property (portfolio, valuation or asset management).
