JOB PURPOSE

The Planner office based reports directly to the Controls Manager and supports other team members and projects as required in the delivery of planning and project control requirements.

Where the Planner is dedicated to a project - they will report through the project manager

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Achieving Results
- Delivers results and takes responsibility for the scope of work that is assigned to self
- Provides (and seeks where necessary) technical advice to (and from) relevant personnel regarding design, construction, commissioning relating to the planning of works
- Is responsible for the development of tender programs where they have been engaged as part of the tender team and supporting others in the development of tender programs where there is not a need for an allocated planner. Work with the rest of the tender teams to ensure all the tender requirements relating to tender programs and other controls related requirements are met, to meet the tender deadlines; will support the tender team in the development of related tender requirements including methodology, work breakdown structure, preliminaries development and risk.
- Is responsible for supporting projects in the establishment baseline criteria to plan and schedule workload as required. Where allocated to a specific project to prepare project planning and scheduling status reports and working with the project team to recommend remedial actions. To Carry out necessary preplanning to examine scope of work and services, work breakdown structure, financial and contractual obligations.
- Work with the project teams to ensure plans are realistic and achievable; analyses third party contractor program information. Prepares schedules for commissioning and start up as required and assists the project control team in establishing a project performance and reporting.
- Can cope with delivering multiple competing priorities to achieve what is both urgent and important to meet both deadlines and others needs with guidance

**JOB HOLDER REQUIREMENTS**

**Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills/Knowledge**

**Desirable Qualifications, Experience and Skills/Knowledge**

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualifications (e.g. Bachelor of Engineering)

**Working Experience**
- 5-7 years relevant experience in relevant industry
- 1-2 years onsite experience

**Skills/Knowledge**
- Solid understanding of Civil Engineering principals
- Advanced planning and reporting skills
- Extensive proficiency with MS Project/ Primavera P6
- Sound understanding of estimating fundamentals
- Commercial understanding of contract and project cost control management in the Civil Engineering industry (e.g., understands productivity and measure, forecasting)
- Ability to identify risk and opportunities relating to plan
