**The opportunity**:
The youth development officer is responsible for implementing community development initiatives and targeted early intervention case work for young people. The role involves ensuring project responsiveness to community needs, delivering quality services to youth, and fostering active involvement of young individuals in the community.
Key responsibilities include collaborating and partnering with local schools, community service providers, Government and non-Government organisations supporting youth representative groups, engaging with underrepresented youth and organising community events and activities in coordination with young people, their families and youth services.

**Essential Criteria**:
- Degree qualifications in community development, social sciences, social work and/or relevant experience in a comparative role
- Demonstrated experience with stakeholder engagement, including the ability to build and maintain relationships, foster networks, and support partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in working with children, young people and families in a case management setting, including information, advice, referral; intake and assessment; and family capacity building.
- Experience in coordinating and facilitating meetings and/or preparing and delivering training content to a diverse audience.
- Experience in reporting on program key performance indicators using Data Exchange and/or equivalent statistical and software systems.
**Desirable Criteria**:
- Knowledge of collective impact, collaborative practice and systems change theories and practice.
- Experience in research, analysis, evaluation and translation of data and information related to community needs and service delivery responses.
The successful applicant will possess or willingness to obtain the following: NSW Working with Children Check, Criminal history check, Drivers Licence, first aid & CPR certificate and undertake a pre-employment functional medical.
