As our Inventory Specialist you’ll be working closely in partnership with the Branch Manager and Operations Manager to ensure that Inventory operations at our flagship Richmond branch are running smoothly in order to exceed sales, profit and service objectives. You’ll be assisting the business in formulating plans regarding inventory levels & stock mix.

**A typical day will involve**
- Manage/lead stocktake counts and ensure all inventory is accounted for and reported according to company policy
- Maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand
- Use available tools, such as Pronto reorder reports, slow stock & stock provision reports
- Investigate and correct discrepancies in reported quantities and locations of all inventory
- Assess inventory output on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis to identify trends in productivity
- Manage cycle counts of product inventories on a regular basis
- Lead others in safe work practices, especially when in a distribution center environment
- Monitor delivery schedule and customer orders
- Place and receive orders in a timely and accurate manner
- File claims when defective products are discovered & manage all credit returns to suppliers
- Coordinate with sales team and warehouse team
- Check date-sensitive products for expiration and facilitate removal or transfer of product as needed
- Perform process and system testing and track performance by area to locate and solve problems in data integrity, productivity, and efficiency
- Train other employees in asset inventory management
- Establish trusted relationships with suppliers to ensure quality service and cost-effective deals

**A bit about you**
- Two to seven years of direct working experience. Such experience should border around warehousing and wholesale distribution
- Familiarity with company products is added advantage
- Ability to adapt promptly to any change in working condition and to get problems resolved without delay
- Ability to perform excellently even when under work pressure, especially in times when shipment or inventory deliveries are forgotten or delayed
- Possess effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to comprehend written materials easily
- Ability to relate across departments connected to the warehouse, and with other members of staff within working environment
- Ability to handle several tasks simultaneously and get them resolved
- Proficient with the use of the computer, especially packages relating to inventory, like Excel and others
