Public Sector People (PSP) is looking to speak to experienced Accounts Payable Officers to engage in a temporary contract with 2 separate Local Councils.

**Northern**: data processing, will be part of the Procurement team

**Western**:end-to-end Accounts Payable

**Previous experience in**
**mid-large scale organisations or Public Sector organisations will be highly regarded.**

- Full time hours, 38 p/week
- $34-37 p/hour + super

**What you’ll deliver**
- Process invoices received by Council for payment through the Accounts Payable system, in accord with Council policies.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolving amounts shown as being outstanding from previous statements.
- Preparation of the weekly, monthly and quarterly reconciliation and ageing reports of creditors.
- Assist with the other areas of financial accounting including processing of banking transactions, journals, bank file uploads, checking of creditor payment proposals, and other duties as required in
the department.

**What you’ll bring**
- Considerable knowledge of accounts payable processes and sound knowledge of the relevant legislation
- Tertiary education or similar with an accounting major
- Demonstrated experience in accounts payable functions with large ERP systems
- Experience in corporate accounting environment, with a preference for direct experience in a local government/health/education/not-for-profit environment.
