**Description**

**Educational Leader / Second-in-Charge (2IC)** _Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday - Commencing Term 1, 2026_ We are seeking a passionate and dynamic **Early Childhood Professional** to take on a dual role that blends **leadership, mentorship, and operational support** as our** Second-in-Charge/Educational Leader.** This role is central to ensuring our service continues to provide high-quality care and education. You will work closely with the Centre Manager to guide practice, support our team, and contribute to the day-to-day running of the Centre. **Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead, mentor, and inspire educators in delivering programs aligned with the **EYLF** and **NQF**.
- Support the Centre Manager with **daily operations** and **team coordination**.
- Act as Centre lead in the **Manager’s absence**, ensuring smooth and effective operations.
- Drive **professional development** and support consistency in teaching practice.
- Foster strong, respectful relationships with **children, families, and the wider community**.

**About You**:

- A qualified Early Childhood Teacher or Diploma-trained educator with strong leadership skills.
- **Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leadership or 2IC role** within early childhood education.
- A **proficient communicator**, skilled at building positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
- A collaborative team player who thrives on mentoring others and building capacity.
- Knowledgeable in the **EYLF, NQF, and current best practice** in early childhood education.
- Organised, proactive, and confident in supporting both people and operations.

**Qualifications**
- What you will need:

- Bachelor in Education (Early Childhood) or Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification
- **Awareness of the Child Safe Standards** and commitment to upholding the rights and safety of children.
- Minimum 2 years experience in current Second in Charge role
- Proven experience in Educational Leader capacity
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards, childhood development and play-based, child - driven pedagogy
- Current Working with Children Check and/or Victorian Institute of Teaching Registration
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate
- Strong knowledge of the EYLF and NQS
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
