Our client in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne is looking for a hard working, team player to join their parks and gardens team.

The main goal of this role is to maintain grass reserves, upgrade and rehabilitate garden beds and open space assets in accordance to service specifications and be multi skilled across parks maintenance activities.

The role is casual, with full time hours 38, $31.82 per hour, and if your the right fit for the job in the future could land a Full Time position.

**Your role**:

- Assist with horticulture, conservation, arboriculture and park maintenance works, including in natural areas in accordance with works programs;
- Maintain Council facilities to a high visual standard including the removal of litter and graffiti;
- Perform all open space maintenance tasks such as mowing, brush cutting, mulching, pruning, watering and fertilising within set specifications;
- Undertake planting programs in accordance with works programs;
- Operate and maintain various items of plant and equipment in accordance with Council’s Safety Procedures;
- Maintain accurate records of completed tasks as required by the supervisor;
- Develop strong and positive relationships with both internal & external customers;
- Undertake works with a focus on ensuring excellence in customer service delivery at all times;
- Respond positively and punctually within specified time frames to customer enquiries and requests;
What you need to be successful:
**Essential**:

- Current Victorian Driver’s License
- Proven experience in the maintenance of civil/open space areas/ relevant experience.
- Proven industry experience in horticulture, conservation or arboriculture maintenance;
- Ability to use a variety of tools, plant and equipment relating to civil/open space maintenance;
- Experience in the use of a variety of tools, plant and mechanical equipment relating to civil/open space maintenance;
- Agricultural Chemical Users Certificate
- Have/be able to obtain a valid Police Check and Working with Children's Check upon placement.
- Be vaccinated in line with the governments COVID requirements.

**Desirable**:

- Front End Loader Licence.
- Chainsaw Proficiency Certificate.
