Production Manager

Contract Packing services, manufacturing of Thermoform Packaging.

The
**KEY** to being successful for this role is
**ATTITUDE**

The Production Manager is responsible for overall supervision and direction of the production team across the business units to drive production efficiency. This includes safe and efficient production of thermoforming packaging and contract packing projects, quality processes, delivery to schedule and

employee engagement.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Oversee the safety of all personnel in the warehouse by ensuring all machinery complies with minimum mandatory WHS and team members comply with WHS policies and procedures at all times
- Participate in risk management process as outlined in the company’s WHSMS
- Continually plan, manage and review production schedule to ensure quality, appropriate labour, material and equipment availability, optimising production efficiencies, DIFOT and OEE
- Manage and implement systems to measure continuous improvement, productivity, waste, downtime, maintenance, labour and associated costs for each area of manufacturing to reduce operating costs.

**Report daily**
- Ensure products are produced and packed in accordance with specifications
- Maintain production quality assurance protocols appropriate for the customer base requirements
- Monitor and ensure QA records are completed as required
- Manage all daily production staff including attendance, efficiencies, quality and behaviour
- Oversee the regular maintenance, repair and replacement of production equipment to ensure smooth

operations. Co-ordinate service providers / contractors and ensure records are completed
- Ensure production and warehouse areas are maintained in a safe, clean and organised manner at all times to maintain ISO & HACCP accreditation - SS implementation

**Leadership**
- Motivate and lead the production team and manage their daily performance to maximise production and cost efficiency, whilst ensuring product quality to agreed specifications and standards
- Build the capability of the production team to ensure depth of talent and skill to manage absences and the long-term capability for meeting growth targets. Identify any training gaps and implement cross training strategies in order to maintain and improve key skills
- Drive best practice and continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster and manage the team to ensure a good working environment and a strong sense of Work

**Health and Safety**
- Oversee induction of new staff to ensure appropriate training requirements are met

**Knowledge and skills**
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and embedding “Toward Zero Harm” mindset. Good understanding of WHS regulations and ability to implement processes to monitor and continually improve safety in the factory
- In-depth knowledge of production management, risk management and quality standards. Experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles highly regarded
- Basic mechanical background to work with and direct toolmakers, die setters and oversee maintenance requirements. Trade, technical or tertiary education certificates highly regarded
- Proven leadership experience with well-developed, collaborative interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively drive performance
- Strong disciplines in implementing and maintaining systems and processes to support set KPI’s
- Experience in reporting on key production metrics
- High attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines and multi-task
- Proficiency in MS Office and ERP software
