**What You Will Be Doing**
Reporting to the Head of Social Work and Spiritual Care, you will be responsible for the overall administration and coordination of Spiritual Care services within Peninsula Health, including pastoral, spiritual and religious care of consumers, carers and volunteers. This role includes responsibility for providing vision and direction, implementing strategies and initiatives, facilitating education/training of Spiritual Care Practitioners, supervision of Spiritual Care staff, volunteers and students and liaison with local communities of multi-faith religious providers.
The Spiritual Care Coordinator will be required to carry a clinical caseload across Peninsula Health inpatient sites. This role will require a Spiritual Care leader who is capable of working in a fast paced environment, able to balance competing demands, demonstrate clinical excellence and support staff to remain motivated and engaged.
**What you need**
You will have a minimum of 3 units of Clinical Pastoral Education, including one at Advanced (Level 2) or equivalent.
You can demonstrate significant clinical and leadership experience in Spiritual Care, ideally in an healthcare setting.
On a personal level, you are an innovative and flexible practitioner with a sound knowledge of resources and referrals networks. You can readily demonstrate skills in spiritual assessments, and your empathetic approach enables you to build and maintain ongoing Spiritual Care relationships.
- Experience as a manager/team leader or senior Spiritual Care practitioner in a tertiary context and experience to lead and co-ordinate a Spiritual Care Department, providing vision and direction, implementing strategies and initiatives.
- Eligible to obtain Spiritual Care Australia certification as a Certified Advanced waged member.
- Demonstrated ability to work at Level 3 or 4 of the Spiritual Health Association’s Capability Framework for Spiritual Care Practitioners in Health Services (2020)
- Demonstrated experience in recruitment and mentoring of volunteers and students.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Theology/Pastoral Counselling/Social Sciences or equivalent.
- Ability and consistent willingness to interact with a diverse range of people at all levels.
- Aptitude to work and collaborate within an interdisciplinary environment.
- At least five years’ experience working in the spiritual care field, preferably in healthcare.
- Excellent computer literacy.
- Multi
- faith and Multicultural awareness and capacity to promote, initiate, direct and deliver appropriate spiritual needs.
- Capability to work cohesively with external faith communities and consumers.
- Current drivers licence
