**About the role**

The Data Engineering & Platform Manager is the technical custodian of all data platforms within DuluxGroup and also the principal data engineer, leading the data engineering function. These platforms cover an array of data warehousing, data lakes and ETL technologies from traditional to modern platforms. The DE&P Manager is constantly pushing the boundaries in the field of modern data architectures whilst ensuring that the foundational data engineering platforms and assets are protected, stable, secure and operational. This role’s primary responsibility is to enable data as a trusted asset for expanded value by excellence in operational efficiency, security and innovation.

By establishing world class processes in data governance and associated trust mechanisms, this role drives trust in decision making through robust data processes, quality, availability and security. The responsibilities of the Data Engineering and Platform Manager do not only span data platforms but more generally brings a disruptive mindset about what we can do with data, this includes internal sources as well as external sources and data that does not currently exist.

By working closely with our businesses this role will continue to build our analytics community around the possibilities that the data permutations in the data environment enable. Secondly simplifying the massive complexity in data for the organisation will be a key attribute of this senior role. By knowing and intensely engaging the data community, this role will bring to our business “cutting-edge” expertise and technology centred around data.

**Responsibilities**
- Responsible for DuluxGroup data engineering capability by creating trust in data though robust data management and governance practices and principles
- Technical responsibility for DuluxGroup’s data platforms including the ability to execute at speed with trust, this includes security and stability.
- Data Education and mentorship to the engineering function and broader organisation
- Encourage and grow a high performing team of data engineers

Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated hands-on technical leadership or the ability to step into such a role
- Experience across cloud service providers Data Brick/Azure
- The ability to collaborate with key stakeholders to achieve improved results
- Technical leadership of a high performing Data Engineering team preferred but not essential
