**Responsibilities**:
As a Merchandise Planner at The Pool Tile Company, you will be responsible for optimising our inventory management and ensuring the availability of the best range of pool and outdoor tiles. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring sales performance, analysing sales reports, and identifying customer trends to make informed decisions regarding merchandise assortment and replenishment.
- Using your expertise in inventory management, budgeting, and forecasting to plan and forecast future merchandise buys based on historical data and current inventory levels.
- Collaborating with suppliers and vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules, ensuring timely and cost-effective replenishment.
- Introducing new products to meet customers' anticipated needs and staying updated on market trends and industry developments.
- Serving as a liaison between customers, marketing teams, and imports departments, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
- Conducting data analysis to measure product performance, profitability, and customer demand, and providing actionable insights and recommendations.
- Contributing to cross-functional discussions and decision-making processes related to assortment planning, pricing strategies, and inventory allocation.
**About You**:
- Previous experience as a Merchandise Planner or in a similar role preferably in the home improvement sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, budgeting, forecasting, data analysis, and product knowledge.
- Proven ability to monitor sales, identify customer trends, predict customer demand, order merchandise, and analyse sales reports.
- Strong proficiency in inventory planning and forecasting software/systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
