Alinta Energy is one of Australia’s biggest energy retailers, generators and developers with over 1.1 million customers. **_ About the role_**

Due to internal movement, we’re seeking a motivated and collaborative Settlements Analyst to join our Sydney team on a 12-month contract. This is a pivotal role within the team to ensure the seamless processing of Electricity, Gas, Environmental, Treasury, Futures, and OTC trades. You will enjoy working with cross functional teams in a detailed and deadline driven environment.

**_ What you’ll do_**
- Validate and confirm trade details with third parties, ensuring system integrity and contract accuracy
- Prepare and reconcile invoices, manage payment processes, and monitor receivables, ensuring timely settlements
- Support monthly financial processes, including accruals, reconciliations, and journal entries for open trades and more
- Expand your knowledge across settlement functions and provide backup for team members when needed
- Liaise with internal teams and third parties for process improvements, system upgrades, and audit responses

**_Your experience _**
- Strong communication and numerical skills, with a degree in commerce, economics, mathematics, data science, or a related field
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a drive for process improvement
- Team player with excellent workload management skills
- Experience in electricity, gas, financial, or derivative markets is essential
- Hands-on experience in accounting, finance, SQL, or Excel would be highly advantageous
