National Settlements Manager

What are we looking for?

An exciting and unique opportunity is now available to join our National Legal Operations team as the **National Settlements Manager**. Reporting to the Head of Legal Operations the National Settlements Manager position will have you accountable for running the operations for the national settlements process across Australia. This will also include the management, development and leadership of the billing and settlements team to ensure timey client settlements, together with governance of the firm’s billing practices more broadly. This opportunity is a permanent full-time role based in our Ringwood VIC office, however, we are open to discussions around flexibility to work remotely when required.

Together with your team of approximately 3 direct reports, a typical day will have you responsible for the following:

- Lead and define the strategy for the Centralised Settlements Team
- Manage and lead the team, together with working with key internal stakeholders to ensure a consistent client experience
- Delivery and timely billing of settled files
- Minimising turnaround times
- Operational excellence
- Ongoing training and development
- Establish and maintain professional working relationships with the legal groups
- Ensure governance and process control
- Preparing monthly reports

Other key elements to this role will include:

- Provide recommendations and future state process improvement
- Collaboration across the firm with key stakeholders
- Support business case development
- Establish key external relationships to improve timeline delivery

What will you bring?

The following skills, experience and attributes are key in your success in this role:

- 5+ years management experience (ideally in financial billing or legal)
- Previous experience in leading a team
- Outstanding communication & interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated skills in effective network and relationship management;
- Ability to exercise judgement & resolve problems expeditiously & satisfactorily
- Superior organisational skills
- Strong technical abilities
- Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team environment.
