**Position Information**:
William Dean Public School is situated in Western Sydney and primarily serves students from the Dean Park and Colebee area. The school has an enrolment of 375 students with 15 mainstream classes and 2 support classes and is experiencing a steady growth in enrolments due to nearby housing developments. Our student population is drawn from a diversity of cultural groups, with 54% of students having a language background other than English. The school motto is 'Learning Together' which underpins all we do academically and socially. William Dean Public School is a PBL school with a focus on developing safe, respectful learners. The school also has a commitment to the development of lifelong learners, who are innovative and adaptable as critical and creative thinkers. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria:
1. Approval to teach infants and/or primary, with a demonstrated ability to lead as an assistant principal managing the dual role on class and leading, in a school of diverse learners.

2. Proven capacity to initiate and lead innovative teaching and learning programs with a focus literacy numeracy, with effective collaboration with all key stakeholders to enhance student learning and engagement.

3. An approachable and visible leader, with outstanding organisation, communication and interpersonal skills who works as part of a collaborative team to build positive, authentic relationships with the whole school community.

4. Demonstrated commitment to strengthen and sustain initiatives and processes that support student wellbeing to meet students' social and emotional needs through the implementation of whole school practices.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
