Bridge Resources are actively recruiting for an experienced
**Mechanical Team Leader **to join our client, who are global leader in the design & manufacture of drones across the defence space, to support and manage a team of Senior Project Engineers and Engineers.

**Key responsibilities**:

- Providing clear direction to the Mechanical Systems team, managing performance, and driving capability development through individual development plans, coaching and mentoring.
- Contribute to product development, interpreting contract requirements to deliver functional product design, production readiness, launch support and product sustainment projects.
- Providing expert advice on engine components and or fuel systems design and development, through to manufacture and production.
- Provide technical leadership to address non-conformance dispositions and engineering change approvals.
- Lead the design, development and validation of components and products & provide expert mechanical and design knowledge to project team.
- Maintain design procedures and documentation.
- Project management, supervision & coordination of assigned projects.
- Develop and deliver progress and control reports, proposals, required documentation, and presentations to stakeholders.
- Establishes work control systems to ensure that standards of performance, quality, cost, and safety are adhered to.
- Assist in budget preparation & continuously driving improvements in product quality.
- Actively contribute towards improving company processes and procedures.

**Your experience**:

- Detailed knowledge of engine systems, fuel systems, including electrical & electronic systems and engine component manufacturing techniques.
- Robust knowledge of design implement process for functional, compatibility, durability, suitability of test requirements, testing procedures hardware and instrumentation.
- Sound knowledge of configuration management, BOM and drawing control.
- Demonstrated understanding of technical drawing standards - ISO, GD&T
- Strong analytical skills, with capability to design and execute performance testing.
- Demonstrated understanding of product development engineering from design, development through to manufacture
- Strong understanding of Design - Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Failure Mode & Effect Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Finite Element Analysis, and ability to interpret data.
- Commercial awareness including experience in procurement and supplier selection.
- Ability to manage suppliers, manage multiple priorities, detailed work, reasoning, deadlines.
- Understanding of automotive, aerospace, and mechanical engineering is valuable but not essential.

**Qualifications**:

- Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering
- 10+ years mechanical engineering experience across engine testing, development & production.
- Previous experience leading a design & engineering team successfully.
- **HIGHLY DESIRABLE** - Experience in the aerospace/defence space across software & systems development.
