Gympie Central State School is in the North Coast Region, located in the heart of Gympie, easy walking distance from the main business centre. Gympie Central State School has clearly defined priorities of utilising targeted feedback and promoting school-community engagement. These areas are underpinned by a strong focus on school improvement and achieved through a highly skilled teaching team equipped with the knowledge and skills to effectively analyse and interpret student data to implement targeted teaching programs to address student learning needs.
About the Role

**As the Head of Department (Curriculum) you will**:

- Lead curriculum focus in line with school and departmental initiatives.
- Participate in delivering the vision of State Schools Division.
- Develop the quality of teaching and learning.
- Nurture positive relationships between students, teachers and stakeholders.
- Form strong partnerships with students, parents, other government agencies, and community groups.

The Head of Department (Curriculum) is accountable to and under the direction of the Principal or delegate.

**The successful applicant will**:

- Have excellent interpersonal skills for both staff and students.
- Demonstrated teaching competence and capacity to provide curriculum leadership, leading to the achievement of quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Lead projects that enable students to achieve to their full potential.
- Capacity to use analytical skills and data analysis to contribute to educational outcomes at school level.
