The Office is tasked with a significant responsibility: bringing together a holistic, connected system for early childhood development across South Australia, with the goal of reducing the rate of children entering school developmental vulnerable. Critical to this is the roll-out of universal 3-year-old preschool from 2026, giving every child access to 2 years of teacher-led, play-based early learning before school.

**About this role**:
The **Directorate Support Officer** plays a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the **Change and Local Partnerships Directorate**. This position provides high-level administrative and coordination support to the **Assistant Director**, managing schedules, meetings, correspondence, and key business processes. The role involves liaising with internal and external stakeholders, supporting day-to-day activities of the directorate, and assisting with HR, finance, and business improvement initiatives. You will be the go-to person for coordination and administrative support. Your role supports the statewide network of Local to operate effectively by managing diaries, communications, meetings, and business systems, while responding proactively to emerging issues and urgent matters.

As a **Directorate Support Officer**, you will:

- coordinate the Assistant Director’s diary, travel, meetings, and correspondence, ensuring priorities are effectively managed.
- provide administrative and secretariat support, including minute-taking, meeting prep, and follow-up on action items.
- support with HR and finance functions including recruitment assistance, invoice processing, and leave reconciliation.
- contribute to business improvement initiatives and assist with small projects, research, and stakeholder engagement.
- provide flexible support across the broader division during high-volume periods or competing priorities.
- build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

You will work with the Assistant Director, Change and Local Partnerships and collaborate across the Office of Early Childhood Development to support effective operations of the directorate. Other key stakeholders include:

- Local Teams across the state
- Business Support and Corporate Services teams
- Government and non-Government stakeholders and community organisations

**Additional Note**:

**Remuneration**:
ASO4-$76,561 -$80,256 (1.0 FTE) per annum, plus superannuation.
