**Where you will be working**

The Prison Disability Support Initiative (PDSI) is a state-wide rehabilitation service that assists people in custody with cognitive impairments and complex disability needs. The PDSI is a unit within Corrections Victoria, which is part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety.

The PDSI aims to:

- **Identify**people in our care with cognitive disabilities.
- **Assess**disabilityneeds to inform decisions on placement, case management and rehabilitation.
- **Educate** corrections staff on how to better understand and support the people in their care.
- **Link** individuals with appropriate disability support services.

**What you will do**:
As the Business Support Officer for the PDSI, you will support a team of dedicated Managers, senior staff, Clinicians and Disability Support officers working with people in Victorian prisons who demonstrate signs of cognitive impairment and who have a range of disability associated needs, by:

- **supporting day-to-day operations**by coordinating, managing and resolving issues including access passes for PDSI staff, provision of technical support for meetings and conferences.
- **organising and facilitating**various team meetings, and events, including the Disability Portfolio Holders Network (DPHN) forum.
- producing a variety of **confidential high-quality written material**including developing minutes, agendas, briefs and correspondence while also contributing to the ongoing development of the PDSI's processes and procedures to align with the values of the PDSI and DJCS.
- **supporting the onboarding of new staff** and ongoing team training and professional development activities while developing and building effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate ongoing consultation and collaboration between business units.

This position is based primarily at 50 Franklin Street which encompasses business units of Offender Services and Reintegration and Forensic Intervention Services. There may be a requirement to attend other locations, including private and public prisons in Victoria.

**About you**:

- The ability to produce a range of complex business correspondence and reports presenting clear, factual and pertinent information based on knowledge, research and analysis in a forensic, human services environment.
- The ability to seek understanding olf issues, needs and motivations of others and establishing trust and mutual respect in supporting others, providing information and making decisions in a sensitive and considerate manner.
- Experience in synthesising and analysing service delivery data and communicating service delivery trends is highly desirable.

**Qualifications**
- Relevant tertiary qualification or experience is not required but is considered desirable. Experience in the field of allied health or the disability sector is not required but is considered desirable.
