
Claim Manager

As part of a major industrial project abroad, we are seeking an experienced Claim Manager to oversee contract compliance and claims management related to a reheating furnace project in the steel sector. Acting as the main interface between the site team and the head office in France, you will ensure the proper implementation of contractual obligations and proactive resolution of potential claims. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to all contractual obligations throughout the project.
- Detect and anticipate deviations from the contract (e.g., delays, design changes, quality issues).
- Manage and respond to claims raised by the client or subcontractors, ensuring compliance with the contractual framework.
- Monitor and document any design modifications impacting cost or schedule, and issue related claims accordingly.
- Maintain close coordination with the French head office: reporting, escalation of issues, support for decision-making.
- Track project timelines, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor man-day consumption: compare actual vs. forecasted labour effort.
- Present risk analyses and mitigation strategies to senior management.
Profile:
- Proven experience in claims and contract management on international industrial projects (experience in the steel sector is a plus).
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts and applicable international standards.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Proficiency in project management and budget monitoring tools.
- Outstanding communication skills with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
