**Position Summary**:
The purpose of this role is to achieve sustained growth and profitability in the country for the following brands of our pumps and compressors’ portfolio: Abaque, Blackmer®, Mouvex® and Wilden®. The Product Manager will report to the Business Development Director and will work closely with the Sales Managers acting as a proactive member of the sales force. The success in this role requires a comprehensive understanding of the market and customer needs, combined with a strong knowledge of the features, functions and benefits of the assigned product lines.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**:
- **Product strategy**
- Act as an ambassador and a proactive member of the sales team by identifying new business opportunities in your assigned region (Australia and New Zealand).
- Gather and analyze the market, customer, and competitor intelligence to identify and quantify opportunities for growth in new geographical areas or new industries.
- Conduct market research through trade associations, internet investigation and corporate services
- Identify, understand and communicate market trends and requirements
- Gather the voice of customers & insights of key stakeholders
- Investigate market needs for innovative products and communicate them to Product Management as opportunities for product development
- Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive products and their activity in the marketplace and provide reports, on a regular basis
- **Commercial and Technical Support**
- Providing guidance to the sales team and channel partners for selection, configuration, and quotation of products
- Provide support in marketing activities such as: creation of market literature, preparing for and supporting trade shows, industry events and PSG product training and customer events
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for channel partners and end users
- Reviews engineering specifications and generates proposals
- Management of specific channel partners as may be required
- Proficient in company processes and policies pertaining to role
- **Product knowledge**
- Knowledge of the assigned products in detail including the operating principles and performance characteristics
- Conduct training of internal team members, channel partners, and other industry participants, such as EPCs, consultants, and end users
- Lead technical training about product selection, performance, and troubleshooting
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications / Requirements**:
- University degree (or equivalent) in a technical field (mechanical or chemical engineering or related)
- You have at least 5 years of professional experience in the product management, sales or account management of technical products
- Previous experience in related industry (pumps, valves, system design, rotating equipment, gearboxes, etc.).
- Ability to analyze a mechanical system and provide technical guidance for operation and troubleshooting.
- Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
