About us
The Melbourne Assessment Prison (MAP) is a maximum-security facility providing state-wide assessment and orientation services for all male prisoners received into the prison system and located within the North West Metropolitan Area, Department of Justice and Community Safety. MAP consists of the prison, the custody facilities at the County, Supreme and Appeal Courts and holding cells at St Vincent's Hospital for prisoners requiring outpatient medical treatment.
At MAP, each Justice Officer role specialises in one of five streams - Property, Records, Human Resources, Finance/Stores and Administration. Over time, and with appropriate support and training, Justice Officers may be rotated between these streams to provide career enhancement opportunities to those staff, and operational flexibility to the prison.
About the role

**In this role, you will**:

- collect statistical information and maintain accurate records
- maintain stock levels and ensure the stores and prisoner canteen are in good order
- serve prisoners in the prisoner canteen
- perform accounts functions, including prisoner monies, payables and receivables.

About you
- well-developed computer literacy
- experience with Oracle or similar finance related system
- understanding of store and warehousing operations, including associated stock management, delivery/service requirements and OHS practices
- excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills, with the ability to respond quickly to changes.

Upon commencement of employment with the department you will be required to provide evidence that you have an up-to-date vaccination status within the timelines specified by the department into the DJCS Service Portal. This includes evidence of three doses of a COVID-19 vaccine required by the department (from time to time).

Other documentation outside the above will not be accepted as evidence of having received your COVID-19 vaccine doses.
