**About the role**:
Reporting to the Regional Manager, Western Metropolitan Melbourne Region, the Team Leader, Environment Protection leads and manages a small team responsible for delivering EPA’s on-ground regulatory response in Western Metropolitan Melbourne Region, including education, compliance monitoring and inspections, and managing non-compliance via regulatory notices and enforcement action. You will plan, oversee and deliver front-line regulatory operations, aligned to EPA’s strategic priorities, to prevent harms to Victorian communities and the environment from pollution and waste.

**In this role you will**:

- Lead and manage a team to achieve high standards of performance, accountability, collaboration, ethics, and integrity; manage the allocation of resources, budgets, business and project planning and reporting; and demonstrate a strong commitment to a positive and diverse culture.
- Participate in the response to environmental and public health emergencies and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative, policy and process obligations and requirements in the conduct of regulatory operations, leading a safety-first approach.
- Actively participate in the conduct of investigations (under the direction of Environmental Crime Branch); and the delivery of preventative projects and compliance programs aligned to EPA’s regulatory priorities.

**Skills and experience**:

- Demonstrated experience and a record of achievement in a relevant leadership regulatory role (e.g. environmental regulation).
- Demonstrated experience and proven ability to lead a high performing team.
- Ability to think outside the square, a willingness to try new things and a genuine desire to learn, share knowledge and make a difference.
