**The Role**

The Safety Advisor is responsible for ensuring site compliance with the relevant OHS and Environmental legislation, Australian Standards, and client OHS and Environmental requirements on site. The position co-ordinates and participates in safety and environment audits and inspections activities in order to help continuously improve, maintain and implement better and more user friendly operating systems on site.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Participate in the daily pre-start safety awareness meetings and the weekly toolbox meetings;
- Ensure that all areas and equipment is safe and without risk to health and safety;
- Assess and evaluate work procedures and environments to identify potential hazards and eliminate them or ensure that adequate controls are in place;
- Immediately report and assist in investigations of any incident or near miss
- Respond to emergencies on site
- Ongoing management of the site Management Plans, including facilitating training and training exercises
- Conducting formal Alcohol and Drug testing on site if competent to do so and as required
- Regularly review the site specific Safety Management Plans for required amendments
- Conduct site specific inductions and training as required
- Conduct audits and workplace inspections as required

**About you**
- Professional qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety (Cert IV is the minimum requirement);
- Current Australian C Class driver's license
- Auditing certificate
- ICAM Investigations
