**The Flower Shop Penrith** is on the hunt for a capable and committed **Venue Manager** to take the reins of our boutique dining and cocktail bar venue. This role is suited to a proactive leader ready to run operations independently, manage staff and functions, and drive customer satisfaction and business growth.
Position Overview
This is a **hands-on, leadership-focused position** where you’ll oversee every aspect of the venue’s operation — from staff management and event coordination to stock control and reporting. You’ll work closely with ownership and be a trusted leader to the in-venue team.
Working Hours & Availability
- **Rostered from Wednesday to Sunday**:
- **All evening shifts from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight)**:
- Must be available **weekends without exception**:
- Must be available to coordinate and attend **all private functions** as required
Flexibility is essential — events, customer flow, and operations may require slight time adjustments.
Your Responsibilities
**Staff Leadership & Rostering**
- Create and manage staff rosters with full accountability for coverage
- Supervise daily operations and lead by example during service
- Hire, train, coach, and, where necessary, manage exits
- Ensure positive workplace culture and high service standards
**Operations Management**
- Oversee food and beverage service delivery and floor coordination
- Ensure setup, pack-down, and cleanliness are maintained daily
- Manage all private events from enquiry through execution
- Maintain compliance with licensing, safety, RSA, and food handling regulations
**Stock Control & Budget Management**
- Conduct regular stocktakes and control wastage
- Order kitchen, bar, and cleaning supplies efficiently
- Keep within budget targets and manage supplier relationships
**Head Office Reporting & Business Administration**
- Submit weekly reports to head office with staffing, sales, and event summaries
- Work toward monthly KPIs and financial targets
- Receive performance-based bonuses for hitting agreed goals
**Customer Service & Function Coordination**
- Manage and respond to function and booking enquiries
- Ensure customer satisfaction and handle feedback promptly
- Plan and lead small and large-scale functions
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in venue, bar, or restaurant management
- Strong understanding of hospitality operations and staff leadership
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Competent in rostering, stock management, and cost control
- Proactive, organised, and confident in managing teams and clients
- Availability across evenings and weekends is **non-negotiable**
