Maintenance Officer

Signature Care is looking for a part-time Maintenance Officer for our state of the art aged care facility in Jimboomba.

**About Yourself**:
We are looking for an experience Maintenance Officer to assist the current Maintenance Officer to maintain the interior and exterior of the building to a high standard, having regard for the comfort and wellbeing of residents and advising on replacement or repairs as required.

**Work Days - 4 days per week from 9:30am - 5:30pm**

To be successful in this position you will be able to demonstrate the following:

- Experience in building maintenance
- Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
- Thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation
- Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
- Willingness to contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
- Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of trades and service providers
- Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction
- Be able to make decisions about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
- Contribute to the support of aged care residents by providing quality service as required, and with respect to dignity and privacy.

**Essential**:

- Previous experience in maintenance for a large facility
- A current Queensland driver’s license
- Computer literacy
- Reliable with a strong work ethic

A Trade Qualification e.g. B Grade Electrician & OHS Qualification is advantageous

The successful applicant will also need to provide:

- A current police check (within 12 months of the commencement date and it must be Aged Care/Vulnerable people specific)
- Have Australian Work Rights
- Evidence of COVID-19 dose 1 & 2 vaccination
