**Manager, Advocacy**

The Office of Public Prosecutions (OPP) is offering a rare and highly regarded opportunity for a senior legal professional to lead and influence one of the most important functions in Victoria's criminal justice system.

**About the Role**:
As **Manager, Advocacy**, you will hold a key leadership position within the Legal Practice division, overseeing the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the OPP's Advocacy team. This is a position of significant trust and responsibility, where your legal acumen and leadership will directly support the OPP's mission to deliver effective outcomes for our community.

This senior role is suited to an experienced criminal law practitioner with a strong background in advocacy and demonstrated leadership capability within complex and high-demand legal environments.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide strategic leadership and day-to-day management of the Advocacy team, including oversight of case allocation, workflow, and performance to ensure high-quality and timely legal service delivery.
- Drive excellence in advocacy by embedding consistent legal practice standards, quality assurance measures, and supporting continuous improvement across the team and broader Legal Practice.
- Appear as an advocate in complex legal matters, contribute to key legal and policy forums, and foster strong relationships with courts, justice sector partners, and other stakeholders.

**About you**:
You will bring extensive advocacy experience and a deep understanding of criminal law and court processes, developed through your work as a senior criminal law practitioner. Your strong leadership capability will be demonstrated through your ability to:

- Manage legal teams effectively, fostering a high-performance culture in complex, high-demand environments.
- Think strategically and implement innovative practice improvements to drive operational excellence.
- Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism, enabling you to engage effectively across diverse groups.
