Peabody Energy is seeking a **Tax Analyst** to join our Finance team, based in our Brisbane Corporate Office. Reporting to the **Senior Manager Tax Compliance** this role will support the tax function across a range of Australian tax compliance, reporting, administration and planning activities.

**Key responsibilities**
- Support the accurate preparation and timely lodgement of returns (direct and indirect taxes) and other statutory lodgements as required
- Prepare tax workings and disclosure notes for Australian statutory financial statements
- Assist with monthly and quarterly tax provision calculations
- Support tax review of business processes, including annual budgets, forecasts, leasing arrangements, and fixed asset management
- Provide support on ad hoc tax projects and initiatives as required

**About You**
- To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Business, Finance or Tax
- 1-2 years’ experience in corporate tax (experience within the mining industry or a large/global corporate environment will be highly regarded)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business
- High attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (SAP experience advantageous)
