**The role**
In Internal Audit, we see our team’s role as being to provide independent assurance, and our goal is to every day, “help make Suncorp better”. We will do this by maximising risk coverage, driving insights and efficiencies and continuing to develop our people to the benefit of all our stakeholders.
The Internal Audit team supports proactive autonomy, you are trusted and respected to own, execute and deliver high quality audits which assist the organisation achieve its objectives through the promotion of effective internal controls. The focus of this role will be on assessing the control environment across Insurance (and other portfolios as needed).
**What you’ll do**
- Perform and where required lead, end-to-end insurance audits, project reviews and other ad-hoc reviews in accordance with Suncorp Audit Methodology and professional internal auditing standards
- Work within agreed budgets and timeframes
- Develop/review detailed audit scope, program of work, audit tests and audit budget
- Prepare and review work papers and risk and controls matrix
- Work closely with our Data Analytics team to develop audit testing (where applicable)
- Participate in/conduct stakeholder meetings throughout all phases of the audit
- Analyse observations and test results, as well as complete root cause analysis to develop audit findings and recommendations
- Contribute to/complete drafting and finalisation of audit report
- Monitor status of audit issues, progress of agreed management action plans and review action completion
**What you’ll bring**
- Degree Qualification (Accounting, Finance, IT or a related field desirable)
- Relevant qualifications from professional bodies such as IIA, ICAA or CPA desirable
- Experience in data analytics audit techniques and IT control testing experience desirable
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Financial Services, internal auditing and/or external audit
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and techniques of auditing and/or risk management and of the requirements of the Standards for Professional Practice of the Institute of Internal Auditors
- Clear, concise verbal and written articulation of the key audit observations
- Relevant business knowledge in IT/ Banking/ Insurance/ Wealth Management industry practices
