**Position Overview**

We are currently seeking compassionate and skilled Disability Support Workers to join our team to provide tailored support for a client in **Darley** who uses a wheelchair and requires a hoist for transfers. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting individuals with disabilities in achieving their goals, enhancing their quality of life, and promoting community inclusion.

**Start Date**: Friday 10th October 2025

**Responsibilities**
- Provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities in their daily activities.
- Safely operate and manage manual handling equipment including hoists, slide sheets, and wheelchairs.
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including grooming, hygiene, transfers, and mobility.
- Support individuals in developing and maintaining independent living skills.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, their families, and other support networks.
- Implement and document individualized support plans in collaboration with case managers.
- Encourage and facilitate community participation and social engagement.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to enhance the overall well-being of clients.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and holistic care.

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in disability support, aged care, or personal care is essential.
- Certificate III or IV in Disability Support, Aged Care, or a relevant qualification.
- Demonstrated experience supporting clients who use wheelchairs and hoist transfers.
- Completion of **Manual Handling Training** and **Hoist Training** (or willingness to complete prior to commencement).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to implement behaviour support plans.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to the welfare of individuals with disabilities.
- Ability to adapt to the specific individual needs and preferences of clients.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- A valid driver's license and reliable car is required.

**Pay Rates**
- **Weekday Shift**: $35
- **Saturday**: $45
- **Sunday**: $60
