**About the role**

Reporting to the Senior Manager - Supporter Engagement, the primary purpose of this position is to manage and grow a portfolio of financial supporters of The Hospital Research Foundation Group through effective relationship management across the donor journey.

As part of our Supporter Engagement Team, this role is responsible for developing and growing existing relationships to enable fundraising outcomes in major gifts and promote gift in will opportunities.

This position plays a key role in designing and implementing our major gift and bequest strategy to grow revenue and support THRF Group’s strategic priorities.

**Role responsibilities include**:

- Build and nurture strong relationships with supporters over the phone and in person using Supporter Engagement practices including education, awareness and gratitude
- Assist with the development and lead the implementation of THRF Group’s major donation strategy including acquisition via community engagement and outreach, cultivation, and supporter stewardship initiatives
- Solicit donations appropriately across the donor journey and facilitate mutually beneficial outcomes for the supporter and THRF Group
- Develop a robust and qualified pipeline of major donors, bequestors and supporters, nudging supporters along the pipeline
- Represent the organisation at various functions, which may

include public speaking, to share the vision, mission and work of

THRF Group and build networks

**About you**

To be successful in the role you will ideally have;
- 5 + years of demonstrated experience in a supporter engagement role within the fundraising industry OR in a relationship-based sales/customer service role outside of fundraising
- Expertise in Major Gifts and Bequest/Planned Giving Fundraising is highly regarded but not essential
- Current knowledge of the philanthropic landscape in Australia and deep networks within South Australia
- Demonstrated understanding of bequest and major donor identity profiles, to support the research and qualification of donor prospects
- Demonstrated experience using customer relationship management systems
- A curiosity about people and their motivations, to benefit strong, long-term, and mutually beneficial relationships
- High level of interpersonal skills, able to build empathic and respectful relationships
- Able to develop and maintain effective professional networks and relationships
