**About the project**:
John Holland has been awarded the contract to build the third stage of the Gold Coast Light Rail (GCLR) network in Queensland. This will see the delivery of a 6.7km extension south of the existing tram network, linking Helensvale to Burleigh Heads and providing eight additional stations.
An opportunity has become available for an experienced multi-disciplined Testing & Commissioning Manager to successfully deliver this iconic project.
As Testing & Commissioning Manager, you will be part of our Rail Engineering and Integration (REI) team providing leadership with the delivery of testing & commissioning services for our Rail tenders and projects and supporting the wider Technology Engineering and Knowledge (TEK) group.
This role will be based in our Broadbeach site or Brisbane CBD office (with regular site visits as required).
**Responsibilities of the role include (but are by no means limited to);**:
- Lead development of testing & commissioning strategies, plans, and procedures
- Management of multi-disciplined testing and commissioning activities in a coordinated and cohesive manner in brownfield and greenfield delivery
- Manage process to ensure systems and infrastructure is tested and commissioned against requirements, is ready for integration into operational networks and fit for intended purpose
- Determination and implementation of progressive off site and onsite testing and commissioning programs to support the verification and validation process and ensure all evidence is captured, available and traceable
- Establishment of testing and commissioning systems to enable effective and efficient testing & commissioning management both internally and across contract boundaries
- Management of discipline specific testing and commissioning teams to support system integration
- Support the engineering teams to ensure that testing documentation is developed that provides the required verification against the design and contract and validation as a complete system
- Risk based approach to safety management of project relating to change of delivery phases such as energisation and dynamic testing
- Determination and detailed planning of critical commissioning events as part of an overall integration strategy
- Planning, implementation and management of integrated testing and commissioning programs and schedules
- Development and approval of Testing and Commissioning Management Plans and discipline plans.
- Identify risks and opportunities relating to testing & commissioning, including identification implementation of appropriate mitigations and control measures
- Review subcontractors commissioning plans and commissioning test procedures from sub-contractors
- Management of client relationships relating to testing & commissioning
- Lead testing teams to ensure targets are met in a safe and timely manner
- Coordination with the engineering and quality teams for the comprehensive capture of testing and commissioning evidence
**To be successful in this key role, you must have;**:
- Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent degree
- 15+ years’ experience in rail commissioning or construction
- Demonstrable experience leading testing & commissioning on > $50 M Projects
- Demonstrable knowledge of the Operational Readiness requirements for bringing a railway project into operations
- Knowledge in asset management fundamentals and the asset lifecycle
- Demonstrable experience developing detailed testing and commissioning programs using P6 or similar planning software
- An advanced understanding of the MS Office suite of products (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills
- The ability and willingness to learn new software packages
- The ability to communicate effectively with varying levels of personnel (managers, supervisors, Technicians)
- The ability to work autonomously
- Ability to meet any requirements which are necessary to safely perform your role (e.g. receiving a COVID-19 vaccination pursuant to a relevant health order or by clients, or as otherwise required)
Testing and commissioning experience in a specific rail discipline, such as signalling or electrical / traction power will be considered favourably, with an overall understanding of railway testing, commissioning and operational in
