- About NSW Energy CoalNSW Energy Coal is a mine-to-market thermal coal business. Our culture benefits from technical know-how, pragmatism and a sustainable delivery focus. Employing over 2,000 people, the Mt Arthur Coal mine, located 5km south of Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter Valley, is the main asset of NSW Energy Coal. Mt Arthur Coal is one of the largest thermal coal mines in Australia, operating for over 50 years.
