Operations Manager

PACT Group’s Synergy Packaging specialises in the manufacture and supply of environmentally friendly packaging for the beauty, cosmetics, pharmaceutical and food and beverage industries. With a large and diverse range of SKU’s, we manufacture PET and rPET (100% recycled) plastic bottles and jars at our Tullamarine facility. **About the role** We are seeking a Plant Operations Manager to drive, and lead initiatives required to achieve delivery of the site cost budget while using a continuous improvement outlook. The role is accountable for P&L cost lines, achieved through production forecasting (S&OP), driving, and improving Safety outcomes, Operational Excellence, Supply Chain and Reliability across the site. With full accountability for the operations and overall management and performance of the site, you’ll bring your hands-on leadership approach to the full supply chain, from raw materials management through to delivery to customers. You’ll utilise your leadership expertise to build a culture that has a strong Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence mindset, driving towards improved performance, productivity and efficiency, ensuring operations are both cost and time effective whilst aligning with quality and safety requirements. - The highest level of safety is achieved - ‘Towards Zero Harm’ - Manufacturing activities achieve the most effective outcome in support of the business objectives. - Products are made on time and to specification. - Productivity meets and continues to challenge established standards. - A culture of Continuous Improvement towards world’s best practice is established. - Open, direct, and respectful communication is practiced across the site. - All ISO, HACCP and GMP standards and practices are achieved. **About you** With strong people management skills and technical aptitude, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification as well as High motivation and commitment to quality, people and plant performance as well as customer service excellence. **Your skills and experience** - Appropriate post graduate qualifications in Business and/or Engineering - 10-15 years in a senior leadership position (seasoned) - 5-10 years’ experience with profit and loss responsibility (senior operational manager) - Experienced commercial negotiator in a competitive environment - Superior communication skills. A personable leader across all levels (from shop floor to the board room) - Strong manufacturing background with experience in the plastic moulding industry - Materials Handling Industry background - Plastics Industry background - Has current P&L responsibility for a >30m business - Education includes a trade background **This is what you’ll get from us** We support flexible working where practicable and offer a competitive salary package commensurate with qualifications, experience and technical capabilities.
