**About us**
Direct Care Australia is a home and community provider of supports to people with a disability and age-related conditions across South Australia.

We are seeking experienced, committed and reliable Support Workers to provide support to people with both high and complex support needs.

**About the Role**

You will have experience supporting people with a disability.

MUST HAVE: Experience using HOIST and BOWEL THERAPY

We provide support to people with a wide range of disabilities, including physical, mental health and complex care support. The role will see you on the front-line providing daily support to persons with a physical and/or intellectual disability and/or with age-related support needs.

The Support Worker role may involve Manual Handling, Use of Lifts and Hoists, Medication administration, Community and Social access, Transportation, and Personal care.

**Essential Criteria**
- Cert III or IV in Disability/Individual Support/Aged Care
- Enrolled Nurses also encouraged to apply
- Work experience in Disability or Aged Care
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable and flexible
- Current full driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- Comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid/CPR & Manual handling certificates
- National Criminal History Check
- Availability and willingness to work at least 20 hours per week across 7 days
- Smart phone required for DCA App and service delivery

Also MUST have the following:

- Ability to provide person-centred and consumer-directed care
- Availability to work across 7 days including passive and active night shifts
- Demonstrated experience working with moderate to high challenging behaviours
- Excellent written and spoken language skills and thorough case-noting experience
- An ability to understand, listen, and communicate with people who have limited verbal communication capabilities or who have English as a second language

**Salary**: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour

- 8 hour shift

- Morning shift
- Weekend availability
