**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Privacy and Data Governance Lead to join our highly dedicated global Legal & Compliance team based in our Sydney Office ( hybrid role).

Reporting to the Group General Counsel and working closely with cross-functional teams, you will use your deep expertise and excellent relationship management skills to champion and lead the elevation of TEG's global privacy and data governance strategies. You'll support a wide range of projects across Australia, NZ, Malaysia, Singapore, the Phillipines, UK and USA, related to data strategy, privacy management, AI goverance and regulatory compliance while ensuring robost data protection practices across the business.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Cultivate a culture of privacy awareness and continuous improvement to maintain data protection best practices throughout the business.
- Develop and drive the implementation and management of data and AI governance frameworks which align with organisational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee data governance for venues, events, and attendees, collaborating with colleagues from Ovation, Ticketek, TEG promoter marketing teams, and our Corporate & Technology teams, as well as our clients, to elevate their knowledge and ensure compliant practices.
- Regularly review and update privacy notices, policies, and guidelines to reflect regulatory changes and evolving business needs.
- Identify and mitigate privacy-related risks within the organization, ensuring proactive risk management and ongoing improvement.
- Drive the implementation of new privacy, data and AI regulations into business operations, ensuring proactive compliance.
- Deliver training programs and raise awareness of data protection requirements across the business.
- Assist with management of data breach responses, and incident management processes.
- Build and maintain a network of privacy and data representatives across the business to support privacy queries, breaches, and personal information requests.
- Represent privacy risks and solutions at the Risk & Compliance Committee level.

**Requirements**:
**About You**
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, IT, Privacy and Data management, or related disciplines.
- Advanced certifications such as Certified Information Privacy Professional or Certified Information Privacy Manager highly desirable.
- Deep expertise and experience advising on and designing, implementing and managing enterprise-wide compliance and assurance frameworks for data governance in complex matrix organisations.
- Expert level knowledge of data protection laws and regulations in key TEG operating countries (e.g., Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), GDPR, PDPA, PPPL, CCPA).
- Keen analytic, organisational and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making
- Excellent commercial acumen and plain English drafting and communication skills
- Comfortable prioritising workload and operating in a fast-paced corporate environment; multi-tasking is a must and you need to be organised, highly efficient and able to push multiple projects forward at the same time
- Highly engaging and personable, supportive of your team and all stakeholders
- Hands on and results-focused with a bias towards action and achievement, you have a clear drive and passion to succeed
- Continuous improvement mindset to find innovative ways to work and resolve problems

NB: Our Sydney office will re-open Monday 6 January 2025 and we anticipate commencing interviews from the second week of January.
