An established network of contacts across politics, government, and the community sector.

Solid digital journalism skills, or a willingness to develop proficiency in digital production and audience engagement tools.

The ability to report on national and foreign affairs topics where they intersect with NSW politics and policy.

Strong editorial judgement and a willingness to lead the news agenda.

Sound knowledge of defamation law, court reporting restrictions and media codes of practice.
